Bradbury is 2025-6 overall champion

Willenhall's Mike Bradbury made it a clean sweep in May when he  beat Mike Murphy 3-1 to win the Staffordshire Cup, to add to the Mercian Cup and the Staffs County League. Thus the annual County League winner versus the Staffs Cup winner for the title of Staffordshire champion is academic. Murphy did beat Bradbury 2-1 in the final league match of the season (his first loss in two years) but was unable to close the five point gap. Sadly, many top players have moved away from the local scene and seem happy enough travelling hundreds of miles to play in meaningless all day events, which hold no titles, and in many cases, are not even annual events. Our fifty-year old competitions will continue to be there for anyone eligible to play for them, which means- anyone from the Midlands can enter the Staffordshire Cup, and any current or former South Staffs TFC member may compete for the Mercian Cup. Both of these trophies are large cups which would look impressive on anyone's trophy shelf. Early Staffs Cup matches are regionalised to reduce travelling expense and time, with the clubroom at the Robin Hood pub in Willenhall offered as a venue on the 2nd Tuesday night of every month.
